Our Personal Experience

Mike and I, Danielle were on a quick trip from Jackson to Ruston for Easter weekend in 2013 when I had a severe Rhino ATV accident. The driver went faster than the ATV was designed to go while driving around a cul-de-sac and the ATV tipped. Thankfully, I was wearing my seatbelt, but that didn’t stop me from bracing myself against the cement and pinning my arm under the vehicle. I immediately knew that my arm was broken, however, I was unaware of how damaged my arm and hand were until we were able to get the ATV back up on all four wheels.

I was rushed to the emergency room where it was discovered my dominant hand was very close to being totally severed from my arm. Mike paced the ER room as the nurses had to cut away my clothes to prep me for surgery, all just weeks before our law school finals. I ended up having multiple broken bones, 70+ stitches, pins, and plates in my arm. In a matter of minutes, I experienced just how quickly an accident can happen and, as a law student, I was not prepared to handle the expenses or medical bills that accompanied this type of injury. Ultimately, we became aware that the ATV was faultily designed and the maker was involved in multi-district litigations. It was known to cause severe injuries, and even death to its passengers.

What Happened Next

After my emergency surgery, I returned to Jackson and law school with follow up appointments twice a week with a specialist until my arm was healed. Then I started physical therapy to get as much movement back into my hand as possible. Lastly, eight months after the initial surgery, I had a second surgery with additional physical therapy sessions. Although I felt lucky not to have suffered any loss of limbs or life, I had some tough decisions to make which led me to file a lawsuit against multiple individuals and entities. Mike stood by my side the whole time and has continued to do so to this very day.

Our Personal Experience Helps You

This unique experience and circumstance has led both Mike and I to be very passionate about personal injury law. We have been there and know how an accident or tragedy can have a real-life impact on our clients’ day-to-day life and overall quality of life, and on their families. We will pursue justice and fight for our clients with this perspective in mind every time we pick up a phone or draft a letter because we have been there. Injuries take time to heal from, both mentally and physically. They require you to miss class, work, and family obligations. They require you to do your part in an effort to get back to the best possible version of yourself. We would be honored if you would allow our firm to handle the rest to get you in a better position then you were before you called our office.

“We vigorously represent your interest to get the best possible compensation.”
